Terms of Service

Version 1.0 · Updated 2026-04-27

By creating an account or using Statio, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. The service

Statio is a private spiritual journaling application offered free of charge to invited users. It is operated as a personal/family project and is not a business or healthcare entity.

2. Your responsibilities

  • Use Statio only for lawful, personal purposes.
  • Do not attempt to bypass security, decrypt other users' data, or disrupt the service.
  • Treat the AI reflections as software output. They are not pastoral counseling, not medical advice, and not a substitute for a real human in your life — your pastor, your doctor, your therapist, or a trusted friend.
  • Do not rely on Statio in an emergency. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or in mental-health crisis, call 911 (US) or 988 (US Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or your local equivalent. Statio surfaces crisis resources when its keyword classifier detects them, but it is not, and cannot be, an emergency response service.

3. AI is software

Daily and periodic reflections are generated by language models. They may be wrong, incomplete, or theologically unhelpful. Cited scripture references are looked up from third-party Bible APIs and may differ from your preferred translation in nuance. We make no guarantee about the spiritual, theological, or factual correctness of any AI output.

4. No warranty

Statio is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, uptime, or non-infringement.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall the operator of Statio be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the service. The operator's total cumulative liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of Statio shall not exceed the amount you have paid for the service in the prior twelve months, which is currently zero (US$0).

6. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator from any claim, loss, or expense arising out of your use of Statio, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

7. Account suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate any account at our sole discretion for violation of these Terms or for the protection of the service and other users. You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Danger zone.

8. Dispute resolution

Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of Statio shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by a recognized arbitration body in the operator's jurisdiction. You and the operator waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in any class, collective, or representative action.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of the operator's principal residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

10. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. When we make material changes, we will require you to re-accept on your next sign-in. Your past acceptances are recorded.
